Float Switches are the devices used to detect the level of liquid in any tank .

They are linked to external devices for example pumps etc which controls the operation by giving signal to start and stop.

Basically it helps in automating the system so that less human interference required to operate the system.It also helps in avoiding dry running of pumps so also overflowing of tanks or liquid storage devices.
